Satellite Affordable Housing Associates (SAHA) provides quality affordable homes and services that empower people and strengthen neighborhoods. Founded as Satellite Housing in 1966, SAHA is the result of a merger with Affordable Housing Associates in 2012, harnessing the deep neighborhood knowledge, staff expertise and history of innovation of both organizations. SAHA has built almost 3,000 homes in 63 properties throughout the San Francisco Bay Area for low-income families, seniors, transition-aged youth, disabled individuals and people experiencing homelessness. These vulnerable households earn less than half of the area median income. Our three core program areas are real estate development, resident services, and property management. Real estate development has a deep track record of success, winning prestigious AIA, ULI, Affordable Housing Finance and Gold Nugget awards. SAHA’s onsite resident services program has a long and impactful history with a focus on community engagement, aging-in-place programming, transportation services and program evaluation through rigorous data collection and analysis. Our volunteer program is powered by over 150 active volunteers. SAHA provides property management services to its own properties and third party services to the local housing authority. In the San Francisco Bay Area, SAHA is known for its entrepreneurial, nimble and creative approach and its focus on serving the hardest to serve populations.
